diagnostic port pin out

    diagnostic port pin out

    does anyone know where i can find info on the pin out layout for the
    diagnostic port for an 84 318i...

    it just dangles there wish i know what it was for

    i have plugged my mulitmeter into it and get differant readings but i have no idea what the mean....

        There are many factory manuals, like the one Adrian posted, on line. Google search usually brings them up pretty well. Also if you can pull a part number off the connector, you can check in realoem.com and see if it comes up with a general description.

          The diaganostic connector breakdown is right at near the top.

          There are a couple cool things you can do with the diagnostic connector. Personally I like being able to trigger the starter by jumping two pins in it. It is great for valve adjustments!

            i made a jumper for my 02 that was an arcade button

            but then i found it was easier just to jack it up and roll the tire...

            im gona do some cool shit with the one in the 318i

            but most important to me now is the one that monitors the icv

            any idea where i can find the male half of the connector?
