As far as the e30 market goes in the midwest, this is a good deal for a clean car, if it is really clean. make sure you see docs for that 43k engine.

The guy said the last engine was blown, so it was replaced. Supposedly it has no rust, but it's been repainted. It's an is but they is no is lip on the front-the guy said it was an aftermarket bumper....that bumper looks pretty stock to me, not sure though. Windows and radio don't work, some electrical issue. Although the guys said the windows worked when he jumped the car which is weird.

      It is an automatic:(

What I'm thinking is if it isn't rotted out after i look at it, any mechanical issue can be fixed. And manual swapped

looks clean but you'll need to spend some cash to fix the windows and electrical... so I'd try to get him down to $2500

windows switches commonly fail (cheap fix, and easy)
auto=s suck, but you know that..

says new motor...afaik, motors are electric...is this an electric car ?

i bet that with the current price of newer bmws, few people will call about the 3,000 price...
offer 1200 and walk away for a day saying you don't have much $$.
i bet they will not get more than 1500 for an auto/ rebuild/ repaint...(be careful w/repaints)
and, 45k on new engine...they absulutely MUST have a new t.b. on it..if they dont know what a t.b. is...walk away. (or change it before you buy it)

and don't pay more than 1500 just b/c I HATE ALL CAPS POSTS...SO FING ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a good deal. I would just over check the usual stuff on the car. The only thing that gets me, is that its auto. If you have access to a lift, it will be ok to do a swap. Good luck.

I do have access to all the resources to do a swap. Which I would definitely do. Haha and yes i agree all caps posts are annoying. Also yes, the repaint caught my attention. Maybe I'll see what I can get by lowballing first.

Went and looked at the car today with will61. I was really tempted, but didn't buy in the end. It looked good, paint and body-wise. The guy couldn't open the hood because there was no lever in the cabin and needed a screwdriver to open the hood-weird? The car needed brakes, and the steering was really loose compared to will61's e30(he also drove it and said he didn't like it). It was an ohio car but had minimal rust underneath, and some slight rust on the rockerpanels(which would get worse). The paperwork on the new motor was sketchy, and it was just motor swapped, not rebuilt. The guy wanted $3000 for it, and I talked him down to $1700. Sounds great. But then we figured I'd end up have that same amount making the car how I wanted it.

And it was a weird situation....the guy was leaving THE NEXT DAY for Florida at 5 am.
He really wanted to sell it, but there no way I could produce the money in 18 hours.
I left and offered $1000 that i could give tonight...no deal.
Its a shame though...hes leaving the car here to live in FL indefinitely, and the car is going to sit and rot in his dads shop.
There's more fish in the sea i guess...

I just saw this thread now. I live in Canfield. Do you remember what street that was on? I know I recognize that white house in the background, I just can't think of where it's at.
