    OEM Shadowline Trim

So I bought some OEM shadowline trim from off of an m3. The question is should I repaint it before install? I feel like if I repaint it then it was pointless to buy black trim in the first place.

Thoughts? One of the door pieces needs to be repainted - the rest is OK.

M3 also. They just don't get parted often.

Powdercoating is an interesting idea...is it flexible enough for me to install?

yes just did it on Dans car. Came out awesome. I dropped one of the pieces on the ground during install, no even a slight mark. PC is the way to go.

Meh. Not worth it to me to powdercoat. SEM it is.

Powdercoating does cost $$, but I'd rather pay it up front and not have to worry about it anymore. The SEM will chip off, and you can always get your money back later on if you decide to sell it.

Just buy a small roll of matte black vinyl for it. That way it'll never chip or scratch.

its all about prep. I shadow lined my e30 6 years ago with rustoleum satin black and it still looks great with no chips or peeling. I will admit I was careful with it but if you prep it properly it will be tough and long lasting
