Can I get a translation German to English?

I got this "repair kit" dealie that's a workaround for the classic broken E30 cabrio top motor. It's from Germany, and you know the Germans always make great stuff. That is, except for a lot of shit we can think of. Figured I'd give it a shot before buying another motor.

I'd really appreciate if anyone would help me with a translation of the instructions which I scanned:

Thanks for the link. If I had an electronic version of this I would have used a translator. I just got this photocopied page included with the package.

I actually started to type the thing into Word, but with the special characters I realized it wasn't going to work out.

oo and quick edit. instead of trying to fix the dam electronic top, you can try and find parts to make it manual which is GREAT! it goes up and down in like 15 second with minimal effort when its manual.

Thanks! Yeah, I know about the manual top. We had an '89 with a manual top (sold it in the late '90s) and it worked great. I do like the power top when the bitch is working so I'm not ready to give up on it yet.

I checked out Google goggles but I have a Windows phone so I kinda think that won't work. You did give me the idea to search for online OCR and found a site. I took the output from it, which was pretty rough, and cleaned up the text in Word. Then I used Babelfish translator, and tried to clean up the result. I'll post in a sec...

So here's what I've got now. Still some words missing and some phrases don't make a lot of sense, but I'm getting there...

Montageanleitung BMW E30 Cabrio Reparaturkit

Als erstes bedanke ich mich, dass Sie sich für diese Endlösung entschieden haben.
Die folgenden Bilder mit Beschreibungen werden Ihnen bei der Montage helfen
…viel Spaß beim Einbau!

So müsste es bei Ihnen aussehen nachdem Sie die Abdeckung des
Verdekmotors und anschließend das Gestänge entfernt haben.

Reste der Muffe die sich noch am Moter befinden und über dem
Karosserieblech stehen müssen entfernt werden (z.Bsp.
Elektrofeile, Flex, Dremel etc.)

Nun lässt sich das Rep.–kit aufsetzen.


Empfehlenswert ist es den Motor im Bereich der Offnung zu
Reinigen (z.Bsp. mit einer Zahnbürste).


Wenn Sie alle Schrauben der Motorhalterung demontiert
haben kann es sein das der Motor etwas absackt (lässt sich
aber leicht weider in Position bringen).

Messinghülse aufsetzen (etwas fetten!)


Befestigen Sie nun das Rep.-kit mit den hier abgebildeten 3
Schrauben (über das verbleibende Loch wırd die Abdeckung
montiert).


Dann legen Sie eine der beiden mitgelieferten
Distanzscheiben in den verzahnten Führungszylinder (je nach
Durchmesser).

Setzen Sie nun den Antriebsarm und den Umlenkhebal auf.


Egal bei welcher Stellung der Hebel beim Abriss der Muffe stand. Nach aufsetzen der
Arme einfach den Verdekknopf betätigen und beide Hebel ineinander rasten lassen.
Das Gestänge lässt sich nur in einer Stellung (bei geöffneten Verdeck) montieren.

Gestänge nach Bedarf etwas nachrichten......fertig.

Bleibt mir zum Schluss nur noch zu sagen...schönen offenen Sommer!!!

As the first I thank you that you decided for this final solution. The following pictures with descriptions will help you when assembling… much fun with the installation!

So it would have to look with you after you the cover of the DEK engine removed and afterwards the linkage.

Remainders of the sleeve still at the Moter are and over that Autobody sheet to stand must be removed (e.g. frame. Electrical file, Flex, Dremel etc.)

Now the Rep can be touched down. - to kits.

Recommendable it is the engine in the range of the Offnung too Clean (e.g. frame with a toothbrush).

If you all screws of the engine mounting plate dismantles to have it can be that the engine somewhat sags (leaves itself but bring easily back in position).

Brass case put on (something grease!)

Fasten now the Rep. - kits with illustrated 3 the here Screws (over the remaining hole wırd the cover installed).

Then you put one of the two provided Shims into the interlocked guidance cylinder (depending upon Diameter).

Put now the drive arm and the Umlenkhebal on.

All the same with which position of the levers with the outline of the sleeve stood. After the arms simply to operate and both levers put the DEK button on into one another rest leave. The linkage can be installed only in a position (bei opened cover).

Linkages as required somewhat realign ...... finished.

Remains saying in the end only… beautiful open summer to me!!!
