I've thought about doing this before, I wonder if it would cut down on potential damage to things like the dash.

some cars in japan have windshields with bronze in them to help with light fatigue on your eyes. Or just see an optometrist that states you can tint your windshield and get bronze tint.

3M Crystalline 90 is what I would use... if it didn't cost $200-300 just for the material, with no guarantee of proper fitment.*

Eventually, that'll be a viable option. But not until 3M pulls its head out of its ass on pricing.

Llumar has an 80% tint that might be an option, although it is an annoying blue color.

So yeah, tinting isn't a great option at the moment.

*and having seen how awful 3M's digital cutouts are for the E30, I sure as shit wouldn't buy it remotely. I tried to get my car tinted today, and my tinter was so pissed off at the crap fitment of the computer cutouts that he trashed all the tint and asked me to come back when his guy with the steady cutting hand is in. It was just wretched.

Around here if you tint your windshield you'll get pulled over in ten miles of daytime driving. I'm surprised none of the replacement windscreens are polarized, most car glass these days is.

I highly doubt they'd pull me over for a 90% VLT film. That's pretty much invisible. The issue is the insane cost and question of fitment.

you can barely, if at all, even see it if its only 90% tint...
they also have 100% visibility clear tint, that is used for UV reflecting purposes.
its only a fix it ticket, here in california, at least it was last year.

Yeah, getting to 90% was a revolution. Previously, they were at 70 and 80%. I doubt anyone is going to do better than 90.

If they'll just get the price to somewhere reasonable...

nevermind, i guess it was 90% but at that point its hard to tell if its there or not.

                              I'm interested.

Also anyone know if heated windsheilds for e30's exist?
