1990 318is alpine white with blue interior?

from meeting someone after getting some parts, he had said he's never seen this color combo on a late model.

and from searching on the interwebs, the m42 318is wasn't around till 1991.

what gives?

have you checked the your carfax? are you sure everything is original? if so...i must say that sure sounds like a rare car...never heard of an '90 m42 before...maybe in europe...lol but definitely not in the states

the car is at the shop but i will get pics of the engine tomorrow to clear this up since my day of working on it fell through due to a lack parts toady :(

here's what mine looks like minus the "bmw" logo on the plastic piece over the plugs and i think the intake is more rounded in design. i'll have to take a second look as the engine has been the least of my problems............this isn't a pic of my car:



i guess i'll post the vin so you guys can decode it and maybe i need to look at the title a little more since i haven't transfered it yet.........and it's poosible there was a swap since that plastic logoless piece has some writing on it like you find on used parts you buy at a salvage yard.

Are you talking about the oil filler cap? Also, that's not a blue interior, just standard cloth. I have a car with a pacific blue interior. I'll see if I have a picture.

i'll have to take a pic of it tomorrow since i've not really paid attention due to other things going on and this is my first bmw of the plethora of cars i've owned so it's all pretty new to me. i'm pretty sure the writing is on the other part as previously said and not the cap like the one in the pic.

yes, in the door sill.

yes on the door sill it will be stamped into the plate on the sill. My guess is that is a very early 91 318is

My Alpine '90 325i came with the same Indigo Blue cloth interior, but comfort seats. Seems like a pretty rare combo; I've never seen another one in person.

The cloth was beat and I hate comfort seats so I swapped in Pacific Blue vinyl sports out of an early car. Took me forever to find them; not 100% correct, but no one ever knows the difference.
