    Ball joint replacement

Have a slight tick in my steering wheel when backing. Definitely a ball joint, not the tie rod as the tick doesn't come through the sw only when braking. Which ball joint is most prone to failure? I'm guessing the outer that attaches to the hub. Thinking of replacing them instead of the complete CA but don't want to order both inner and outer if I don't have to..

The assemblies arent that much tho. Thats what I did. But I will tell you GET A FUCKING ALIGNMENT RIGHT AWAY.

"Toe-out is a bad condition to have because it causes the tires to scrub as they roll along. Only 1/8th inch of toe-out will scrub the tires sideways 28 feet for every mile driven. At this rate, it doesn't take long to wear down the tread."
Ma che cazzo state dicendo? :|

$80 each gets you new control arms and new bushings with it. ive done the swap to both my e30s and its the only way to go. but yes the outer is more prone to failure.
      Much wow

its not too hard to press in and out new balljoints. i would NOT take it to a shop, if you have a press and some insight its not a bid task
