NO, you can NOT register the car without a title in NJ. Reason he got it with bill of sale from auction is because he purchased it from a salvage auction (Copart or IAAI) as PARTS ONLY car. These cars do not come with title and are meant to be taken apart.Comment

That gets into illegal and potentially dangerous situation. I know a way to do this, but unfortunately cannot share it online. All I can say is a junk yard has an ability to get you a salvage title.Comment

I also live in jersey... I bought a 1966 impala ss without a title. You can get a title but it is a long process. Also if the owner that the car is in the name of wants the car back their is a possibility that they can get it. This is regarding a vehicle with a clear title. You have to call Dmv they send u the paperwork. Also get the vin and check if the car is stolen. You can also pay some companies to do it for you.
I have so many plans for the impala but Im not wasting dough on it until the title issue is clear.Originally posted by scabzzzzWow. This thread is just full of r3v's elite isnt it? From the college virgin to the racist with an ugly girlfriend to teh mad tyte dorifto guy.. Jeez.

Although not directly related: After I went to initially title my E30 almost a year ago, I found that one letter in the VIN was incorrect (someone typo'd a B into an 8 (or vice-versa)). You wouldn't believe what a RIDICULOUS pain in the ass it was to rectify that situation. It didn't help that I got the car from out of state, and the PO disappeared for over a month with all my original documents in-hand...
Anyways, have you gone to the NJ DMV and asked a supervisor this question? Be very up-front about the situation, and don't lie about any facts. They may know a way to get it done.Comment
