    Should I pull the trigger?

So I went to see a 1989 BMW 325i that was local and everything looks good, pretty clean only has a slightly damaged rear bumper and the it needs a new shift knob, but the only problem was I couldn't drive it because there was a few pinholes in the gas line so it was spewing quite a lot of petrol. But I started the car and it sounded great. Anyone knows if it would be a good deal to get? He said he'd call me back when he replaced the hose. Anyone think its worth it? He is asking for $1700 but I'd be offering less obviously.

Yeah I told him if he fixed it and I could test drive it, I'll buy it. But I just don't think he will go that low. But I will give 1200 a shot. The sunroof crank needs a new knob and the left seat has a tear in it. So I'm sure he'd definitely take less. Plus it still needs to be smogged.

Did you go look at it? Did he replace the hose? I'm talking to him about the car right now. He said you bailed! Why?
