    AHHHH! suspension help

So, I'm installing a new suspension and I put the strut assembly together but noticed that the springs are loose and have the ability to move around.

Any suggestions. Am I missing something?

First off, assuming you have an e30 325is, what springs/shocks/coils are you installing?? Are you installing camber plates as well??

Also are the springs loose when the car is on the ground or up in the air??

Depending what springs you have, it could be normal.

Example: H&R Race hang loose if your car is in the air. Eibach pro-kit, you need a spring compressor.

          They're IE3's, with billy sports.

So they should be able to move around in there when the car is on jack stands, and there's no pressure on the strut assy?

yes, once you set your car on the ground, the springs will settle. or is it suttle.

They will settle in, and come to a resting point. This is normal. I would suggest just lining the spring ends with the strut perch and upper plate before lowering it back down though.
