    Scary stuff:

Well before i start this thread, my car almost caught on fire today.

Let me first say that my heated seats never worked in the first place...While driving all day today it was kinda hot outside (+28C)...i dropped off my buddy at his house and let the car idle for bit, came back and there was smoke comming from under the driver seat, my friend thought it was just dust or somthing but it smelt bad. it was comming right from under the driver seat. checked under the seats and my heated seats wiring was alll melting fast!...i quickly turned off the car unpluged the connector for the heated seats and pulled away from it, i was way over paranoid that this thing is gonna explode, yah i used to watch alot of action movies when i was a kid....what did just happen here? they never worked and now all of the sudden they do? Also my passenger noticed that " Her butt" was warm i looked over and noticed that the switch was on, so that means they are working now Well at least the Passenger does for now.

Question is: Can i just "by pass" that connector and solder the wires together?(mind you it melted where the wires go into the connector)?
if i didn't actually notice and kept driving i would of lost my car today, or maybe my life. Scary shit.

In before the "cool story bro"

So heated seats, fuck you.

Edit for the first time my car is sleeping outside tonight ;(

Under what hair-brained scenario could you have "lost your life"? Drama queen.

Cut the wires, and wrap with liberal amount of electrical tape until you've found the problem.

Why would you cut anything? Just unplug it and leave it unplugged. Done.

Also what fuse number is it for the heated seats? they never worked on my old black car too.

You know, for looking 'all over the internet' for the heated seat fuse, you should have just looked on R3v for a "Fusebox Guide"

                          seriously.
