Do Not Waste your time nor your money. Be more fun flushing it than trying to repair that hulk. California has plenty of decent shaped 2002's, take a gander and peruse www.2002faq.com

Might not be beyond fixing up and driving. I don't see any gaping holes in the body, trunk is the worst part. Check all the structural areas for rust, it might just need new wheels and trunk lid. Give it a serious cleaning and drive the piss out of it. Just get it cheap enough that you can always part it out for more than you paid. I've seen worse cars flat blacked and driven.

Hose it off, redo the suspension, toss an m42 into it, and uberhoodridetyte.

In comparison to where I live you California is like the AZ desert, and not much rust in such an arid environment.

I have the balls, but not the cash. Im working on about 200 bucks a week as a 17 y/o and i have to keep up with my e30 + girlfriend + gas. I have it easy, but no room for another project.

                              dump the gf
                              park the e30
                              buy the 02

                              haha, I kid.
An old 02, especially one in that condition is not something for the faint of heart..
