    New Shadowline idea...

ok so you know how people put electric tape on their chrome molding instead of painting it...well i got an idea thats even better than that. they sell carbon fiber print decal sheets in as long as you want it in a 2 ft width...you know where im goin with this? cut the carbon fiber sheet to put over the chrome trim!! its even better than electrical tape, get that carbon fiber look you all want! you can even do the door pillars while yer at it!! and the adhesive on this stuff is way stronger than electrical tape, it will probably last 2 years at least! so what do you guys think? eh? hahaha

They sell a REAL product called "Blackout Tape" made especially for doing jobs like this. It is in NO way at all the same as electrical tape, and if done well looks incredible, and holds up through all kinds of weather.

I was going to explain what's wrong with that idea, but "everything" is pretty hard to explain.

I have done one side of my chrome trim with 3M black tapes... I think it's those they used for advertising signboard...

For the curves, I stretch and pulled the tape, without using hair dryer... It might stretch a little too much with heat...

It's almost half a year aledi and it's holding up rather well, with all the tropical rain and sunshine over here..But no snow, though...

Will find time to do the other side. And will take some photos while doing it...

Where can I get big sheets of CF vinyl? I'd like to do my hood and trunk lid.

                              OMG, anyway...

Since it seams that most of you guys want shadow line trim so bad, why not just BUY IT(!)?

Why not find a reseller and get a GB going on the trim? I know the E34 guys did this last year and it was like $300 for the whole car.
