New to e30 and site

I just wanted to introduce myself and my car. I just joined the site and have been busy doing some much needed maint on my new to me e30. I changed the timing belt, water pump, fluids, rebuilt the calipers, installed Axxis ultimate pads, reinstalled the oil pres, oil temp, and volt gauge, and a few other things here and there.

Thanks. I would like to autox and hpde. I have done one autox in my Honda and got first for the novices, but I haven't been back yet. I wanted to get the e30 ready for my next event.

I am trying to get it ready for autox and/or hpde events. I know I need to remove the sound deadening, but are there other parts to remove? I have been searching around and see there is a lot to remove, but I am afraid to remove some things. I don't want to compromise the car.

Thanks for all of the welcomes. Nice to meet everyone. I will check out the weight reduction thread. Thanks. Just reinstalled the front strut brace, and had my tires put on yesterday. The tire shop had a hard time removing the Avon r comps, and had a little fun seating the Falkens.

What for? I needed a car that would be a dedicated weekend/track car. Doing that with your DD is not a good idea. At least not for me.

Getting all of the little things done before I drive it hard is difficult. I have been working on it for the past month or so to get it ready. I am getting very close, but I wanted to make sure everything was ready, b/c the PO didn't keep up with maint very well. They had more dollars than cents/sense. It looks like the car was kept very clean and unmolested until the PO turned it into a track car. I am just keeping the theme.

Would it be worth it for my next tires to upgrade the wheels to 15X8s and go with 235s?
