i was wondering if anyone knew of any thread or from personal experience, how to change from auto to manual. i'm trying very hard to get an s50 or s52 motor but i want to know what else i'm gonna need. sorry still new :(

Haha, just kidding. We all started somewhere, right? No shame in asking, the shame is when experienced people answer and the asker chooses to ignore or (far worse) argue.

Many guys have done this swap. IF you learn how to do it yourself (no, it isn't all that hard, just tedious) life will conspire to make you have to do it more...so you might wanna pay someone else to do it for you!

ha thanks! yeah i got my e30 today for $900 and i know you can do so much to these cars for reasonable amount of money if you diy. if you think it's something that hard i'll take your advise, but do you know what exactly needs to be done? or possibly of a thread?

thank you guys a lot for giving me this advice, seriously helped me out. i plan on doing it, i got the car for cheap so i figured if i do any major things to it i'd change it to a 5 speed.

thats so true what stereo said! im 21 years old. ive done a few motors with my dad (ie running him wrenches.) when i was a kid. my crowning glory was putting the M50 in my cabrio. (which was a 5 speed swap as well) since then ive been dragged into yanking 3 more engines and another on the way. headers on 3 different cars and coilovers on 2. none of them are mine. so if you learn how to do it..... they will find you!

Dont forget the timing belt, or it will snap when you are on a date. Trust me i Know.
