    CV boot kits from autohaus

This looks way too good to be true

6 bucks for a cv boot? I mean other places are selling boot kits for $50, so if I could get away with 6 bucks a boot I could do them all. But I want it to last and I know cheap isnt always better, but is anyone here using these boots and are having problems?

Dont want to spend money twice because I dont really have any money as it is. Looking for some r3v'pinions here

PS I already have the axle grease so thats why I just needs the boots and not the whole kit.

some of the cheaper ones are a harder plastic and dont last very long. but those actually look decent in the photo.

those are the EMPI ones and they are the SHIZZZNAT!

EMPI buys factory boots from everyone, copies them and makes their own molds. then makes them from EPDM rubber. the almost NEVER go bad.

they are usually way cheaper than factory boots too!

If doing the boots wasn't so messy, I'd probably get em. Doing inner and outer sucks.

Yeah thats what I was worried about, premature wear and stuff.

This is a cool bit of info, didnt know that. Sounds like a good deal then, I was just worried about the 40 or so dollar price difference.

Yeah, I just took the driveaxles off a while ago and need to do the boots, they all have holes and one is ripped in half:o

                  So I've heard.

Thanks all for the info about this! Gonna order them later.

And how necessary is it to put the exact amount of grease in their? Because on my thread on bimmerforums, they said that bmw reccomends x amount of grease and that the supplied grease is a little too much. What should I do? Just put it all in? Does it really make a difference?

                  Thanks again

Pretty sure after I packed the bearing, I put the rest in the boot. I don't remember there being that much extra though.
