E23, lol and it's in Kingman but it does have euro bumpers. I smell gray market
Still, I think you could get that price off of the bumpers alone.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

There's little doubt it's a euro car, unless someone swapped bumpers, grilles, headlights, and hacked some sidemarkers onto the rear quarters of a US car.
Last euro e23 was 1986 though. Hell, last US e23 was '87 so regardless, it's not an '88. Maybe it was brought over in '88 and has a federalized VIN plate reflecting that.
Running and driving for three hundy is definitely worth looking into though. Looks rough, but would make a badass hood ride. Paint might even clean up with a good cut and polish. Hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like a Buffalo hide interior, some leatherique rejuvenating oil might do wonders bringing that back if it's not too far gone.
Worse comes to worst, you could easily make a few bucks off the bumpers, lights/grilles, BBS airdam, and maybe some of the german language interior pieces...'84 318i - Lapisblau/Schwarz (in cryosleep)
