How to unlock the stock E30 cassette/radio deck?

I purchased another E30 yesterday, but the cassette deck is locked. I don't have any radio code available......and will eventually be changing out the unit, but wanted to see if there was a way I can unlock in the meantime.

Pull out the deck, write down the number on the back, call BMW and give them that number and they'll give you the code.
