the 300 I6 ford motor is fucking bullet proof. learn to drive that better without wrecking it (lol) then buy an e30 after said driving skills are aquired.

but in all seriousness, i dont know why people who dont even have an e30 are already planing out swaps, etc etc.. lol. if it were me, id buy a clean shelled (no rust, or major body work needed) 84-85 318iA, with a bad motor or trans, for dirt, then swap if your dead set on a swap. if not, buy a 325e, and drive the shit out of it. should remind you alot of your old e28, and still be a good bit funner.

I'm planning it out because it's what I want! lol

The wreck with the e28 was almost 4 years ago, my driving skills have greatly improved. Although I am wanting to improve them, and I've, for whatever reason, decided to improve them out in the track. can't really track a truck. I have a bunch of buddies in NASA who've been trying to get me to join and get on the track. Yes I could get one running, but I also figured if I could find one wicked cheap because it has no engine I could just swap mine in, figured it might be more fiscally possible on $8.50/hr part time...

Ya, only one small problem with that 300, pulled the head and have about 1/16-3/32" gap under the, shit what's it called, ream? ring?, the top of the cylinder and the wall under it. luckily I got a 240, the 300 is a stroked 240, and the blocks were built 8 days apart so no one will ever know it's not original :nice:
so I'm gonna swap in the crank and rods and put a medium cam, small 4 bbl carb, and the efi exhaust manifolds, it'll be a nice engine once it's done...

get a roller chassis, they can be had for dirtcheap. like 300 or less. youd be in like 1500 tops for a swapped car, and thats one hell of a deal when your rolling on v8 mustangs. :)

that's what I was looking for, I have some other stuff I gotta pay off first tho.

I did find one, it was a project someone started and never finished, everything there with an auto and man tranny a 318 and 325, all for 700, figured I sell the engines and trannies to fund the build up, but right now, I need to replace the clutch in the ranger, and I still owe my dad 400 on it too...

Well I talked to this guy.

First off here's what the add said:

This is a project car, I have all the parts to get the car running, don't have the money to do it now. I have two engines, one good and the other not so good, I have two transmission too. One manual and the other automatic. I have three extra tires for the car, in good shape. I also have a rack and pinon. Check out pics and you'll see what I'm talking about it.

Here's what I emailed him looking to get an idea on the car:

Hi, I might be interested in your car and was wondering if you could give me more info about the car? What's the interior like? was it originally an auto or manual? do you have 2 325e engines, or? really I'm looking for a 325i but I might settle since this is such a good price.

Any rust that you know of? any chance you know what rear end is in it(Gears and LSD or Open Diff)?

            His Response:

The car is a stick shift, I had other bmw that I bought for the engine, I pulled both of the engines and the trannys too. One is an automatic and the other is manual. I also have another rack and pinoin. I'm sending you pics of the car now.

not much info, but 700 seems doable for me, might have to get a small loan from a family member and make payments back to them, but it's an e and I was looking for an i. can you just swap the heads? or is it more than that?
