    Pros and Cons

I was wondering if a few of you that have experience with these e30's can come up with a few of the desirable and not so desirable aspects of the following two cars. Each i am sure has its own merits, if you can list everything you can think of i would be extremely grateful. Heres the cars:
    1984 bmw 318i with the M10
    1989 bmw 325i with the m20

this will determine my projects path.
    cheers!!!

The m10 is a very low powered engine while the m20 isn't a powerhouse it does make a good bit more power which, is more fun. Also it is fun to rev out and will last for a long time if taken care of. However, the car with the m10 will weigh less and hanlde better, depends on what you want.

the m10 has no power unless you turbo it and even then it will still be on the low end of power.

Before everyone berates you for such an overly covered topic. I highly suggest you invest some real time and do your own research on these engines. there is a wealth of knowledge if you actually apply yourself. If you are serious with the project then there is absolutely no reason for you to be asking this question on this particular forum. There is too much available information, start reading!

i think u need to elaborate more on what u want to do with these cars once u build either the m10 or the m20.

180+ HP is attainable with a built M10. Don't rule that out..

Why is there a new "this e30 vs that e30" thread everyday, by seemingly the same person?

                          no prob

i know you guys are asking about when i joined, i do know a lot about both engines, i just am having a shit of a time commiting to either running a turbo on my m10 or swapping in the m20. I just want to be sure. i suppose the weight factor is apparent, but i am wondering if that is an issue with a street diven e30 or if that really only comes into play while racing. The m20 does have the major power advantage, and that is something i havnt seen before, what does the m20 make at the wheels? and the m10? Whatever i decide will be started this week. Anyone here ever driven both a turbo m10 and a stock m20? if so which gave you the best ride? The one thing that really has me leaning towards the m20 is the aftermarket goodies available and the option of putting a chip in. The only real thing stopping me from getting rid of the m10 is that i have 2 of them and i bought a nice little intercooler, a dinan cast turbo manifold and two IHI turbo's.

Look, you will have to decide for yourself. Good n tight on here gas squeezed over 300whp out of a turbo m10, if you throw enough money at anything it will be fast. You need to decide whether you want a more balanced, light but buzzy car, or a silky smooth inline 6, then you have to want it enough to finish what you started.
