Hopefully yes. The economic is on the up-swing. The causalties are sad, but very small compared to other ordeals. Take every other war using ground forces, our loss of lives have been extremely slim. Bush was ahead of every other candidate head to head in the polls. Now this should put him way ahead.Originally posted by RobSGeorge Bush a 2nd TERM!? hahahah hopefully not, the the country is still in major debt and soliders have STILL lost lives..its still going to be tough for Bush to win a re-electionComment

 :roll:Originally posted by AndreNYExactly and there is still alot OIL there to be stolen from themOriginally posted by RobSYour right, there is still a lot of rebuilding to do in that country. This is one step towards that. There is a looong road ahead, and a lot of $$$$ invovled..Originally posted by MattE30It's a good thing we caught him, but it won't change anything. Iraq is still inhabited by three groups that hate each other.
yeah, welcome to war. what did you think was gonna happen? really now....soliders have STILL lost lives..-Jetta GLiComment

i agree.....the loss of life hits home more because they basically advertise EVERY death that occurs, so of course it seems like massive number of people have died...the media has made war a very personal thing....WWII and such on the other hand had thousands of people losing there lives each day, yet the media could not report each person so personally...in a world of impersonal war..smartbombs and push button warfare....the US media has found a way to still make it hit each person........I dont see what bush would have done differently to change the ways people view him...he got stuck with a shitty hand...the economy was on a downswing and we had a crisis in Iraq......you cant please everyone, and i think WHOEVER would have been in office would have been the whipping boy for whatever goes wrong

I think GW2 will coast into a second term pretty easily. The dems do not have a strong candidate to oppose him. The front runner, Howard Dean, has some real out their policies, and much of his platform consists of "Iraq bad", with today's developments, there has been a major blow dealt to that.Originally posted by RobS

You see a lot of Anti-GW sentiment in traditionally liberal media sources such as hollywood, but to borrow a Nixon-era phrase, there is a very large "silent majority" that is pro-bush.

Charlie I actually agree with something you said.
Anyway, yeah George W.'s pupularity has def taken a huge downfall since 9/11 But Christ had Al Gore been in charge during all of this he would be hiding behind one of his precious trees. While George went in guns blazing. He is the man. Bush/Cheney in '04 all the way. C'mon Eric chime in here dude.

You're fuckin crazy. Liberal bastards can all go to Iraq where they can be fucking shot. If it weren't for Bush 9/11 attacks would happen twice a year. Yeah he is spending an ass load of money to fight over there, and our people are dying in slight numbers. But have we been attacked on the homefront after 9/11? No, we haven't end of story.Comment

It shouldnt have happened in the first place. Shit like that happens all the time around the world, but nobody seems to give a shit until it happens to the almighty USA, then the whole world shuts down. I didnt see it as that big of a loss, to be honest. At least, compared to whats happened in other countries. This is just the opinion of a Colombian in the US Navy. Let the flaming begin.Comment
