    Visited HQ for Gleason Corp.

For my ME110 class (CAD/ProE) the prof took us to his job. Works at a place called Gleason, who I had never heard of before. But basically the make machines that produce gears of any sort. Mainly automotive, mainly differentials. Machines are used by basically all automotive manufacturers, BMW included. They have two plants over in Germany. It was pretty neat to see being a car person. I was the only one there out of 20 that knew what a diff was and its purpose.

Not that exciting of a post... but interesting to see where our diffs come from.

That's cool. I am mech. engineering major and love stuff like that.

Once I got to tour a plant that rebuilds valves for nuclear power plants and subs. Crazzy tolerances and saft checks they have to perform.

Also visited Marshall Space Flight Center and saw working mock ups of the space station modeules.

Last tour I took was with a buddie of mine to his work where they very accuratly alight fiber optics lines for max transmittion. Preat cool stuff...
