Does everyone elses central locking work from the pass lock too?

Recently the past couple of times I've tried to unlock the passenger side door, it acts like the drivers side where it'll unlock both doors and the trunk and the fuel door.


Is this common? I dont' recal the car doing this before (tho I've only driven it a total of about 3000miles in the past 7 yrs.

It should lock or unlock from both doors or the trunk.

If you have a car that "double locks", that will be drivers door only, but otherwise, all doors/trunk/fuel door work together.

Yes. In my case, all four doors. Or sometimes three, thanks faulty actuator.

whats this "double lock" feature? mine does it as the previous owner had the drivers lock replaced but i dont know exactly what it does...

My ix doesn't lock from the drivers door (thanks to a failed vandalism attempt), but works from the passenger door and trunk...

Double Lock is common on 'verts and some later cars. I have no clue how to tell if you have it or not except to test.

If your drivers door key will rotate clockwise to the horizontal position and is able to be removed, the doors will not be able to be unlocked.

When you test this, have your windows down: you will not be able to unlock your car without using the key. Pulling the knob will not work.

Oh: if it breaks like that you are beyond fucked.

my central locking works when it wants to. Also have the double locking on the doors.

My 86 has the central locking feature...
