help requested. two questions, pls...

ok here are my 2 requests:

1. my old intake boot have this opening for the brake booster vaccum line (red circle) vs the new boot i just bought (yellow circle) that doesnt have the opening



my quetion is can i jumper the two pieces of hose eliminating the Y shaped plastic from the system?



2. what is the correct way to align the bushing in the braket? first or second pic?

2nd for the loolypop.
one of those hoses can be blocked off-- not sure which one anymore. i would personally just get the correct boot-- they are nt that expensive.
