    List: AWD under $10k

My Volvo finally blew up, and with winter around the corner it's time to start looking for something reliable, but still fun.

I could use some help putting together a list of fun AWD cars to be had under $10k. POST WITH PICS.

High up on my list so far is the 2.5RS:

There is of course the IX:

    Post up some cool shit.

I love the 2.5 RS, but a bugeye WRX makes more sense. Bigger, way more power, totally cool still.

Here is our very own alpinee30m52s:

Otherwise you get PITA cars like audi's or you move into trucks. I've thought about this a lot, and the only decent choice is some kind of subaru imo.

I dig the first US gen WRX's and the turbo is a big selling point, but I enjoy the 2.5RS for it's more cult like stature. Both are pretty high on the list, I'm just afraid I'll never get the E30 done if there's a WRX in the garage next to it. Turbo motors are too easy to upgrade.

Wish these guys came in 5spd:

Wouldn't hate having a Forester either

DSM is too much of a project next to the e30 imo.

2.5RS seems like a good candidate, should hold value pretty well too. But I doubt bug eye WRX prices can drop much more... I wonder if the 2.5RS will eventually sell for more than a bug eye?

I was going to suggest forester. It would be a good way to keep you from modding something, but I know if I got a forester I would want to slam+wheels+turbo for sure. At which point much smarter to buy a WRX.

I'd opt for the 2.2 as opposed to the gutless 2.5.

b5 s4, I used to see them all the time for just under $10k but I haven't seen to many for sale any more.

If you're looking at something as big as a forester, you might as well go with an lr discovery. I have two, and can attest for the funness (made a word)... reliability is another story however

Def not looking for an SUV. Forester is even pushing it.

I've thought about the B5 S4 also. They're pretty piggly and earlier models have turbo failure issues. They're also a bitch to work on.

                        I think I rather have

                          Mazda 323GTX

Yes, I've been seriously considering an AWD car for my next project.

Foresters are not big at all, and weigh less than an STI. They are the same size as a WRX/STI

All those car's are awesome, and impossible to find. But still awesome.

I like where you're heads at.
