Self-Locking Nuts (lol)

Hey all,

Just got my motor mounts in the mail. Too bad they didn't come with self locking nuts like they were supposed to.

I'd rather not wait until next week to replace the motor mounts, because my car feels like a geriatric at idle.

Do you guys think I could pick up a couple of these for my car at the stealership? I don't mind paying the premium price for these - I need them, like, now.

If needed, I drive an '88 325is.

step 1: place the bolts in your hand that you need the nuts for.
step 2: borrow a car
step 3: drive the car to the hardware store
step 4: take the bolts inside hardware store
step 5: go to hardware section match nylocs or prevailing torque nuts to bolts
step 6: pay for them or steal them, your choice
step 7: return to car and drive home
step 8: install your new nuts on the motor mounts
step 9: drive your own car again

let me know if this is too complicated for you and i will add more steps for you to clairify.

step 8.6: lower car
step 8.7: wash hands and change out of dirty clothes

seriously, if you can't go to the dam hardware store and source up nuts and bolts, you should not be working on your car. this shit is not rocket science.

Haha, I was being sarcastic in my earlier post, Monkey.

Anyway, I had just been browsing through the Pelican Parts tech articles and they mentioned self-locking nuts. I knew something was suspicious when both Pelican Parts and Bavauto did not have any option to buy new self-locking nuts.

Also, before anyone says it, I know Bavauto is expensive and blah blah blah, but their shipping is usually very fast and I tend to use them when I need something quick.

In any case, I'll take a look at the nuts that come off and if they look okay, I'll probably re-use them. Maybe throw on some Loc-tite, maybe not.
