Nina (Simone) got a fat lip... and then a headache
I realzied that just because the spring is broken doesn't mean I couldn't set the ride height, so I took advantage of a sunny afternoon and went at it.
Driver side done
Passenger side done
How it looks now 1" lower in the front (22.25" fender to ground), 1/2" lower in the rear (22" fender to ground)
Not slammed but pretty low
Took the car for a afternoon cruise and I'm glad I have an ejnight skidplate as it took 5 good shots already. Look like I'm going to need a bit stiffer spring in the front.
Put the tires from your other wheels on and it'd be perfect. As it is even dropped on the ground it's not low enough to hide the fact that your tires are 5% undersized. Dunno where you got your advice from but you can fit a lot more tire under that car than you're running now with no issues whatsoever. The good news is it's an easy fix and the wheels are b-e-a-youtiful!

and searched multiple forums to see what others who own 16x9 Borbet's run on e30s, 215/40/16 was the most common size.
Jb325is runs a 225/45/16 tire on his 16x9 and his reply to me:
"It rubs at full lock in the front and under compression in the rear at that height. I can raise it up a bit and it won't rub but then it sits too high IMO. I'm running GC with 1.5" shortened housings, 550/750 rates. If you're running lower rates in the rear it will probably not work at all, especially with the added weight of the vert. Azev's don't need spacers but if your wheels do I would run as little as possible, which is usually around 3mm. 225/40 is the way to go."
I have 450/650 springs so I took his advice and skipped trying to fit the 225/45 on the wheels.
I still have to dial out a bunch of -2.5deg of camber which was required to clear the 225/45/16 setup, this will pull the face of the tire up closer to the fender lip.
But thanks for the kind words on the wheels... I love watching the vert roll in window reflections.
