would a lower front valance from an 88 325e fit on an 89 325i. they look the same would all the mounting and everything fit right?

but to answer your q, all '88 up valences are interchangeable.

I will add that yes all 88+ valances are the same except for the Cabrios .
They still had the older style until they went to plastic bumpers .
Maybe '91 .
