So Im in the hunt again for a new e30 and while I was originally looking for a pristine e30 to begin with I started thinking about other options as money is going to be tight. Im still in school till may and I dont use my car much for much else other than driving the 300 or so miles to and from school and for errands. I found this ad over on roadfly and it looks appealing. From the looks of it it sounds like a well maintained car that has jsut been sitting for a while. Its only about 3 hours from me so its definately appealing (especially at that price!). If I did get it I would throw some decent all seasons on the tires and run those till I could get my kopi alpinas with summer rubber on em later. I d fix the timing belt, etc myself and throw on some new performance rotors and padson there and Id be golden. Later this summer Id hit the suspension and other performance mods.
But now my question to you all is does this sound like a good deal. The cars looks to be in good shape and according to the ad runs well. For around 1800 (im thinking I could get him down to 1500) plus about 500 dollars in new parts I feel like Id have a solid runner that I can build off of later. What does everyone think? Should I be wary of a car that has sat for so long? Thanks
Fielding
