People really have to stop the hate on Ken Block's results on the WRC. The dude is beyond humble when it comes to it and easily admits that this is a huge challenge for him. The man is living the dream of competing with the world's top rally drivers. I'm pretty sure if any of us had the opportunity, we'd do it. And that's regardless the amount of flak you'd get by not measuring up to the standards.
He never planned to be competitive towards them, he's barely driving half the season. But imagine the experience and how much you can learn by finally leaving the USA to drive.
I'm mad envious, and give MAD props for him being able to participate in something like that. Unlike the Nick Hogan's of the world, who do nothing but waste such great opportunities, he's actually very humble from all the WRC interviews I've seen.

Its just everyone else in the world has to be asked to drive for a team in WRC based on experience and being the best. Ken Block just throws money at it. He bought his way in. Its like squid inventing a team to race in motogp just so he can race with the top players. Its fake and he doesn't belong there.Ma che cazzo state dicendo? :|

If you could buy your way into doing what you like to do, you're saying you wouldn't do it?
If I had a million bucks in my pocket and I could use it to buy my way into D1GP Japan, I would surely do it. I'm sure I might not make it past qualifying, but who cares.

If you really think everyone else isn't "buying" there way in you are mistaken. As a driver you need some major financial backing early in your career in order to even get noticed by anybody who would pay you to drive for them.
There aren't many who get noticed at the lower levels of karting and get asked to move into a pro series with a paid ride. In this country you'll see a lot of talented guys never make it anywhere near a paid ride because when they were 15-18 they didn't have the family money to continue on before being noticed by a team owner or team principal. The continuance would probably include something on the order of 2-3 seasons in formula atlantic coming out of the "family" pocket.
To a large extent racing and more so making a large income in racing is still a sport for the rich and famous. It's very very hard to make it to the upper levels of motorsport without having money to keep you in the upper intermediate series to get noticed...if your good enough.
Of course with every rule there are exceptions...Kimi Raikkonen for instance...
