my 1984 318i is having a problem, the engine starts and runs for about 3 minutes into driving then shuts off. After I sit and wait a minute it starts up again but shuts off after another couple minutes. Any thoughts to what may be wrong?

Sorry no one has replied to you.. You should try to be a little more specific, such as explaining how long it has been doing this, if you have had it checked out, what kind of changes have happened to the car before it started doing this...

it has been happening the past week. I checked the fuel pressure and it was normal, and nothing was happening to the car out of the ordinary before this started i just simply got in the car one day and it died after 2 minutes of driving and has been ever since.Comment

if u start it will it idle? does it only shut off when u drive it, or when its under load?

yes it does idle. It only shuts off when i drive.Comment

not enough O2 or fuel im thinking. check afm and all things fuel related.Comment
