SAAB and BMW are two companies that have close ties with the aeronautic industries. BMW has most likely enough cashflow to buy SAAB and only use some of the technology it possesses. I doubt much of SAAB's technology will find its way into a BMW, but they have extensive knowledge in aircrafts... Both civilian and military. What a great way for BMW to diversify, especially after acquiring Rolls-Royce technology a while ago.
SAAB's automotive history is probably something to forget about. I always hated their cars, most likely the ugliest things on 4 wheels.
I think they are some of the most hideous vehicles ever made. My cousin got a 90's saab turbo as his first car, and he thought it was the fucking shit. Not only was it a POS that broke every week, it was automatic, slow as piss, FWD, and it looked like a fucking turd. I had to listen to that fag tell me how nice his stupid saab was at every single family event. To top it off, his sister then got one, and it was the same story: stupid looking, slow, unreliable, and did I mention stupid looking?
LOL someone sounds angry bit much?
Really? I've always thought they were rather good looking...the 9000CSE's were bad ass as well at the 900 Turbo's.
I think you've just seen bad examples...they're quite cool cars.
Personally...I love Saab's! I didn't like the ones from GM too much though.

for those of us that love Euro wagons and hot hatches Saab has made some good cars, especially when you turn the boost up! It was very cool in hte early 90's to come across a 9000CSE that was 300+hp and would shit on a 911
Ouch, at 0.1% of the European market, Saab better be working some deals. So what I get out of this is when you buy a Saab, you'll be buying a parts bin car from a whole host of auto related companies.
If Saab went away tomorrow the sun would still rise. Sometimes you need to know when to put a fork in it.
By DEALBOOKFrom our colleagues at DealBook: Saab Automobile, the Swedish brand that was rescued from near death early this year by a Dutch manufacturer of high-end sports cars, may soon be getting some German help as well, Jack Ewing writes in The New York Times.
Spyker Cars, based in Zeewolde, the Netherlands, on Monday confirmed that Saab and Bayerische Motoren Werke, the German carmaker known for its BMW line, were in talks about cooperating on components in an agreement that could provide Saab with technology crucial to a turnaround.
“The group confirms that talks are ongoing and will give further details once a final agreement has been reached,” Spyker said. Saab has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday at its headquarters in Trollhattan, Sweden, without saying why.
