    Ground under dash?

    I want to figure everything out before I rip appart my dash/kick panel under my steering wheel. I've searched the forums, but I could not come up with a specific answer. I'm not very well versed when it comes to electronics/wireing. What can I use as a ground underneath my dash? If someone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. (pics would be awesome)

    There should be a ground under your steering column already, it will have lots of brown wires going to it. What are you grounding?

        Yup. From what I remember, it's above the clutch pedal and to the left a little bit. And it's best to not be lazy about moving stuff out of the way. I didn't move the ABS stuff out of the way and tried to tighten the bolt and ended up stripping the hole. I had to drill another one above it and use that as the ground spot lol.

          Alright, I'm losing it. I've tried the directions the kit sent me, I've tried the directions on our DIY section, and I CANNOT figure out how to do the push button start. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated! My car is torn appart right now, and I need it back tonight. PLEASE.

          This is the situation...

          Is this the ground? (black wire is for the push button)

          Here's the wires...

          Can someone please explain to me in the lamest terms possible, where to connect what to what, because I've exhausted all my possibilites somehow. I must be retarded.

            The wire from the button goes to a box.

            From that box, there are:
            1 RED wire
            2 BLUE wires.
            1 BLACK wire

            Can someone please tell me where exactly to connect these, I've tried twice now, and it's not going well. I've been working on this since 3:00.

              Yes that's the ground, see all the brown wires?

              Now what exactly are you trying to do? Wire the push button into the starter circuit?

                Yessir I do, just making sure.

                The directions say to wire the two blue wires to the ignition wire (red) and the red wire to the small black and yellow one (starter)...this is NOT working.

                  Okay the red wire is for switched 12v I'm guessing. And the two blue wires are signal wires. You need to splice the blue wire into the starter wire and then when you close the circuit by pressing the bitton, your starter will spin. Keep in mind with your kit your key still needs to be in the ON position for it to engage the starter.

                    Yeah, I know they key needs to be turned. So let member this straight...

                    Red ---> Red
                    Blue ---> black/yellow
                    Blue ---> Red
                    Black ---> ground ---> nut

                      Blue needs to go to the same wire. I'm gonna guess blue -> blk/ylw -> blue and red -> red.

                      But I can't say for sure because I. Haven't seen your kit nor read the instructions.

                        you're the man. it started twice with the button with that combination ^.. my girl tired to do it, and it wouldn't work.

                        now it won't turn over...it tries soooo hard to go, but it wont. Just "dunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnna"...I re-spliced the wires, and made it very secure, and the same thing happend. I checked the ground too...any ideas or suggestions?

                          Your battery is probably dead from you leaving the car on for too long or having your doors open while you did this. Try jumping it.

                            It starts right up if I use the key, but when I try the button....

                            "dunnnnnnadunnnnnadunnnnnnna"...so I think I'm going to soldering them...instead of electrical tape

                              I'd use crimp joints. But either way.
