Grassroots $2010 e30s

Yep, I'm well aware of the backstory on both. Both are documented on r3v. I hadn't yet seen these "finished" pics of either and thought I'd share.

I don't see how some of these cars get off claiming to be built for less than $2010. I know that they are pretty lax about the rules and it's supposed to be a "fun" event, but come on. Nonetheless, both of those cars are awesome.

We're not "lax" about the rules. Every single part on the car is documented, and we look at a receipt for every piece.

Also, you have to remember that these cars sometimes aren't built the same way as those without budget concerns. For example, the Hong Civic's engine was never rebuilt before the turbo, they just added 22 lbs. of boost and nitrous.

You could easily replicate either of those E30's for $2000.

Lax probably wasn't the right word. I am admittedly ignorant anyway. I don't know anyone who has built one of these cars. Still don't believe it, though. I guess that I'd have to see the build sheet.

I love the Vorshlag car. It looks so well built. The white one is cool but, it doesn't look as clean. Oh well though, it's a race car!
