Problems with Leased Nissan. Need Help getting out!

Alright, so we have this 06 Nissan Altime 3.5L. We Initially leased the car in 06, then in 08 we chagned the agreement to a buy. The car is currently on extended warrenty.
The problem was initially with the A/C not blowing cold air when it was hot, and it was blowing when it was cold. The problem started sometime in 2008, which was what appears to have been solved by the dealer. Now since January of 2010, the problem started up again, the car has been in the dealer since then till now for a total of two months. First the problem was a/c hose, then condenser, then they changed the ECM.. After this the A/C seemed to work, but now there was a problem of the car not starting sometimes. So took it back and they are saying some B.S about it being a fault in the key.

In the past 9 months the car has been in service for 2 months and counting. And they have spent around 6,000 trying to fix an A/C problem. This is counting parts, labor and a renta car.
It was also during this year that the tranny went bad, which the dealer paid $4500.
So thats a total of around 11.5K that the dealer has spent trying to fix the car.
At this point I dont want to deal with this car and the dealer. What are my choices of getting out of the agreement.
Could I have Nissan buy back the car and close the loan? We still owe around 12k on the car

    Thanks for reading through.

Lemon law will only apply if the dealer no longer wishes to deal with it. I think as long as dealer makes the repairs on their dime, you can't return it under lemon law. But call Nissan Leasing and ask them

Nissan is a shit company when it comes to this imo. I bought a lifted 2006 titan from the dealership, they sold me an extended warranty, and when my rear end went out, they wouldn't honor my warranty because it was lifted. Apparently the lift voided the warranty, but those bastards sold me the extended one anyways!

I've had nothing but problems with Nissan, it's corperation, and deffinitly their tech service.

People always talk about Nissan's "reliability" but in 2 years I went though:
TWO different rear ends ($1,500 ea)
Carrier drop bracket ($15 part, they wanted $950 installed)
        Deffective leaf springs
        A/C
I went through 3 sets of manifolds before they finally agreed to put headers on it.
        Hub assemblies
        ball joints
and tons of other shit. On top of the purchace price, I was in it for 7k in repairs.

I used to sell Nissan's, essentially on paper in our state was the problem had to documented 3 separate times to be a lemon. The a/c issue I've never heard, in fact Nissan a/c kicks ass, the cvt going out on the v6's is a known problem but no common; a lot of it has to do with the driving style and the early years of the cvt's.

I'm assuming you have been dealing with the Service Manager and not the service adviser. I would also advise using another dealership for the next warranty work for possible back up documentation.

I'll be honest with you, the dealership is really only want to work with if they think they can get you to purchase another nissan product, they are looking out for there bottom line at the end of the day like any business.

i dont know why they would change the ecm, but the low side a/c line and compressor are the 2 most failed components on the 3.5 altima. actually thats pretty much all that goes bad. the lines leak at the crimps, and the compressor clutch sometimes fails to engage.

keys dont lose their memory contrary to popular belief. i cant remember off the top of my head if the 06 had the ikey, but it has its own chip for security/starting. all other functions work, but the car wont start. easy enough to replace key and reprogram. crank sensor is probably the most common problem fo crank/no starts however. easy way to tell is when your cranking the car the security light stays on.

            cvt trans. enough said.

no way they are going to buy the car back for those problems, i promise you. if you took it in for the same problem many times and they still cant find out whats going on, they send a rep from nissan hq. if he cant find out whats going on with it (not going to happen), they think about buying it back, especially if its been less than a year. it seems like a shitty situation, but its common for those things to go bad in your car.

that sucks i would have started a big fuss over the exteded warranty if it wasnt outlined what wasnt coverd. diffs go out in titans all the time, they should have covered it. manifolds are common to crack as well. besides those two issues (and some misc. leaks) they are pretty reliable trucks for what they are.

Its a shitty situation because it has been to the dealer every month because the A/C would not come on. And now, after they tried fixing it, the car wont start. And they are blaming the key... Its a standard key, its not the ikey. So I think they are yanking some balls cuz they dont know what the problem is. Ill be talking to a lemon layer, he said there might be something he could do. SO well see, and hopefully get out of this car.

There really isn't much you can do. I would try taking it to multiple dealers for the issue before you try Lemon Law. If you have all records from one place, they tend to not accept the claim. It is your duty to prove the car is in fact a "Lemon". All you gotta do is go to two different Nissan dealers, and write it up for one hour diagnosis for the issues claimed, if they also have no solution to your previous issues/claims, they WILL Lemon Law it.
