I'm in the same boat man. Sort of. I just got my my first car (e30) last week but don't have a license! That's not a big deal. The bad part is that I supposedly can't get my license till I'm 17.... And I just turned 16.

Getting in trouble right before 16th b-day was not a good idea.

I played that game too for about 6 months back when I got my DL. The state had just changed the licensing age from 16 to 16.5 (~2002ish) but my parents didn't know! Back then in VA, they gave you a paper temp license as soon as you finished driver's ed...but it didn't take effect until you turned 16 and a half (you got your permanent license at a huge licensing ceremony during your junior year, by which point most kids were of age). I showed it to my parents (to 'prove' I had my license) but they didn't notice the part that said "Not valid unless the holder is 16&1/2 years of age...".

About 3 weeks before I was legal, I got pulled over for speeding in a school zone in my S-10. I showed the cop my temp license, and figured I was in a whole heap of shit. Well, I guess he wasn't very good at math...looked at it, looked at me, (it had your b-day listed on it) and said "Just started driving last week, huh? Well, slow down through these school zones, and start paying more attention to the road signs. If I ever stop you again, I'll have to give you a ticket. Consider this your first warning..."

After that little incident, you couldn't have driven a nail up my asshole with a sledgehammer for the next 3 weeks.

You think that is bad? I havn't driven anything for 2 years, which was only for 2 weeks. In the past 4 years I have only had about 5 weeks of driving total...

          I really miss driving.

There are times that I do. But then again how many people get to say they live in Tokyo. I only get to drive when I go back home. Next time I go back I have to renew my license first cause it expired last July
