As im in the market for an e30 I was thinking of options of waht to do cosmetically if I got a pre 88 one. Well I think im leaning towards the euro bumpers but for comparison, how hard would it be to install a body kit myself. Is it to much of a task to make it look good or would it just be more of a pain to get the rs1 kit to fit right. My friends got one installed on his car (he didnt do it came with it) and it looks good and is installed perfectly (looks like it came that way from the factory). Would I be able to do this then jsut send it off to the pain shop or would it be a job considered left to the pros?

The quality of the kit will directly affect the ease of installation. You could probably save a few bucks by installing it yourself but you will still have take it to someone to get it painted. I would find a respected body shop to paint and install the kit, alot of times aftermarket kits are a bitch to get to fit properly anyway. Just my

Dude Im fitting a Breyton Kit myself and its a bitch..... mostly due to the fact that its a Body kit for a face liffted E30 and mine is an 87. Fitting the plastic bumpers are really the biggest pain in my ass. It can be done and if you have proper tools can be done alot easier. If Im you and Im trying to watch my loot Im gonna atleast try my hand at it. Im bout broke as fuck thats why Im fitting mine myself. Its not too too hard and if your fitting a full bumper replacement Im sure it will be a little easier. As for fitting Euro bumpers and kit, ask Ryan about that Im sure he could tell you. Hope this helped ya man. Good luck.

Just about every aftermarket bodykit is going to require some modification to fit, even my Alpina dam took about 5 minutes of trimming. Its just somethng that comes up when you try to fit something made last week to a car that is 18 years old I guess.
From what I have seen kits like Reiger and the like I would spend about 3 weeks fitting before it ever saw a bodyshop. Im not really good at that shit but almost anything can be acheived with time if you are careful. Just dont expect anything to be easy when dealing with old cars, anything.Im now E30less.

umm, what he said. Has anyone mentioned that bodywork, when done properly, is expensive?Unless you are experienced with bodywork or work at a body shop, don't touch the kit yourself. Let a professional install it, or else it will look like shit.
