How the hell is the mirror attached? It fell into my lap today and I do not see any signs of glue or anyhting for that matter. I see the slotted washer just below the mounting surface but I am not sure whether it is supposed to play any role in the mounting, however it would make sense to be able to remove the mirror, since the windshield can be busted. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

I'm assuming you don't have a convertible. The vert ones glue on where the sedan has a snap system that can occasionally break. It's been awhile since I've had a mirror out, but usually you can just snap them back into the hole under the front headliner panel. It's easier to see i you pop out your check panel. -
