what happens when you disconnect your o2 sensor?

wondering what would happen if you were do disconnect your o2 sensor on a 325e (motronic 1.0, i think)

i ask be cause i'm trying to trouble shoot why my car wont rev past 3k , while in the processes of doing so i discovered my o2 sensor isn't working.

i'm technically double posting right now. but i really need some feed back as i can't seem to figure this out for the life of me.

    Thanks ya'll

Will probably run pretty rich... but if your O2 sensor hasn't been working you prob wont notice a difference.

Your car wont rev past 3k? Is it an auto?

Ain't no check engine light on an eta brah, motronic 1.0 = OBD 0 . It would run rich that's for sure but it wouldn't stop the car from revving all the way to redline just hurt gas mileage alot.

OP in response to your original problem that cutout sounds alot like a rev limter to me at least that's what I'm getting from the video. Are you sure that your tach is reading correctly?

Ok forgot but will run wide open loop, never paid much attention to that as my eta was not driven on the street.

sorry for the threadjack, but is there a difference between the o2 sensor for the i and the e? I'm using 'i' electronics in my eta, but that won't be done for a while. Right now, my mpgs are down the tubes. If i bought one for my car now could i use it when i swap the harnesses?

              They are different, non-interchangeable. Sorry.

also i retest my afm just now, and my ohm reading starts at about 800, and ends at 180. But in between it's in the 1000- 1500 range... so i'm going to try a new afm.
