I know theres a few sites with guys that put the v12 in a e30. Does anyone know of the sites or more info? Anyone know what the v12 weighs compared to the stock 6? I know the v12 is aluminum block and heads. Also can a 6 speed getrag from the 540's be connected to the v12? I did some searching but havent found too much..

I realize the 4.4 is a great engine, and an easier swap, I was just looking for some more information on doing the V12 swap. Also the 330 HP from a very restricted car with 3 catalytic converters could be opened up, not to mention 360 ft lbs of tq. Ive looked into the 4.4 swap quite a bit in the past and just became interested when I saw one of these v12 e30's. Either way Im just looking for more info..

There's some swap cars and info on e30.de. One word of advice though - with such a large engine in such a small car, be prepared to have to pull the motor or remove quite a bit of parts to do even the simplest of tasks - like change the spark plugs :) There just isn't enough room to do things as you could in a 7er. But hey, good luck if you decide to try it, I'll certainly applause any effort like that!Comment

thanks, I just think its a really unique swap. I mean the v8 certainly is too, and the 4.4 is sweet, I owned a 540 with one and that was one of my favorite cars. It sounded nice, but a V12 would have an incredibly unique sound. Ive checked out e30.de a bit, but does anyone know what site that black v12 e30 with black wheels was?

Now I NEVER will. They look frickin' awesome.. and that's the ONLY positive thing I can think of to say about them.

try to change the spark plugs when the V12 is in a E30 hahah u have to pull the motor out to do any thing to it. not a very good idea to do it stick with the V8.
