How does one change Tranny shaft seals?

I have my tranny out and am having trouble replacing the seals because I cannot even get to them.

I cannot take out #6 even though all the bolts are out. I cant find a way to get it out.

And the rear seal I dont even know how to get to because of the driveshaft connection. How does that com out?

You're going to need to get a quality hardened steel hook and pick set. Try tapping the sides of #6 gently with a brass hammer until it breaks loose. The output flange must be removed in order to replace the #13 seal. Don't forget about #17, the shift rod selector seal as well. There is no other way to get them out other than to slide in a hook, turn it and pull.

Keep in mind that after you replace them, they may not seal 100% immediately. I replaced all of mine and I kept getting an oil spot 10-15mm in diameter everytime I parked it. I continually had to keep topping it off for a few months until it finally seated properly and quit leaking.

        or

OP You will need a 30mm thin wall socket to remove the driveshaft output flange. I had no success with mine and had to re-install my tranny with a leaky output seal. I would suggest having an impact gun on hand to bust that sucka off. Don't forget that there is a lock ring on the nut you need to remove, or at least there is supposed to be.

^^^ If I try remove the nut using an impact gun, wont the shift just spin? Do I have to hold the shaft or flange with something as I try to get the nut off?

i un-did the bolts on mine then use a very think flat head screwdriver and mine popped out. and used a bunch of the same screwdriver to break out the actual seal itself. then tapped a new seal in with some wood blocks.
            Much wow
