Speeding Ticket-Trial By Written Declaration-Help?

Word. I wasn't trying to beat it. I was just in time for it with fractions of more time to spare. Hell, there was a mini-van parallel on my right making a left on the lane next to me as well to me lol.If youre in the intersection you are obligated to wait for passing traffic to pass until it is safe so you can turn. WHat the fuck did he expect you to do? Wait in the intersection during the whole red light as well?? Unless you were coming and trying to beat the light, then I can see where he would have grounds for a ticket. But still, you can beat it. Im so glad people are getting hip to this whole situation.
He put on the ticket says I was going 20mph.
Yea it's a lot.
In consideration what I replied to Mr. Clean above^^, I'm sort of confident in my letter.
I have 15 more days to turn in my Trial by Declaration.Leave a comment:

Wow that is way too much for something like that. I guess it is dangerous, but it could always be an accident.
I'm not sure on how you would fight something like that.
I think something like that is more of here say, your word against the officers.
Something you should try to do is extend the court date as much as you can.
Make as much time go by as possible. Its free and easy, just took me forever to get on the phone with the clerks hereLeave a comment:

Oh sweet and thanks I'd love to know.I'm not exactly sure on the details yet. I just saw online that I was found not guilty and received a paper in the mail saying the same and that the clerk will pay me my $230 dollars back. I'll let you know when I get more details!
good luck with your ticket!
thats a lot of money. what did you do to get such an expensive ticket?
With all the little fees it was actually $497.
Went into a "late yellow" left turn. Motorcycle cop said it was red.

are you aware that insurance companies give radar detectors to police departments? whats in it for them? well, if you get caught speeding they get to raise your rate. What? Stating that a grown man should take responsibility for his actions is the attitude of a child? And what if anything does that have to do with the law? You said in your post that you were exceeding the posted speed limit, and you got caught. Trying to evade punishment for your actions is why children blame the dog for something they did instead of manning up and taking what they have coming to them.
On another note, saying that the 'cops are puppets to collect extra revenue' truly shows your immaturity. These 'puppets' as you call them are the same reason idiots like you are likely still alive. These 'Puppets' deserve your respect and while a few do get out of line, they do a insanely difficult job that I and many others would never do.
As far as saying 'the road I was speeding on could indicate the limit should be 45'. Well, guess what, its not, it was a 35 and im sure you knew that full and well before you a ticket for 48 on it. The officer who gave you a ticket knew that, and he was doing his job.
Good luck fighting your ticket, it sounds like your too scared to face the officer who gave you the ticket in the first place or a judge. I hope you pay out the ass for wasting their time.
and how about all the traffic courts that prosecute without a prosecutor? cops arent lawyers, they are just witnesses. If the judge is the prosecutor it can't be a fair trial. so how can the case proceed if no one is bringing charges against you?
OP: congrats!Leave a comment:

Congrats. I'm in the process of this with a $500 ticket.
How did you win? Officer not write back, or did the Judge swayed towards your appeal?Leave a comment:

Yeah I know man I've been better.good for you for not having to pay, but if the speed limit is 35, it doesn't mean that 48 is ok just because it is sunny and dry. if that were the case, everyone would be doing 100 on the interstate when it was sunny and dry.
in general, if you are a college student trying to save money by avoiding tickets, the first step is to stop speeding. this is coming from a recent college grad who was pulled over several times while he was in college, sometimes for pretty stupid things. it just isn't worth it.
I keep it around 38-40 sometimes less.
That guy just got me when i wanted to go quick. Its a little stretch to where I turn onto my street and usually there is no cops. first time in over 4 years or so ive seen one doing radar on that stretch havent seen one sinceLeave a comment:

There are a plethora of sickening videos like that. It hurts to watch.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BART_Po...of_Oscar_Grant
In this country we have the right to fight a measly ticket if we want.
Yes police can do good, that is a given. They also get way to cocky and empowered when they put their uniforms on.Leave a comment:
