Just out of curiosity, and no offense meant, was your car fully warmed up before you did this, or is your water/temp gauge incorrect? It seems as though it might not be the greatest idea if, in fact your car was not warmed up, you were to thrash it that hard without a proper warmup period.

Of course it was warmed up... My water temperature rarely goes over the 1/4 mark and my oil was 200ºF +Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

The noise was gravel and shit on the road flying when I dropped anchor for the 90º corner up ahead.

I drove my car for a few weeks without any fan after the swap, and while the temp was fine during most normal driving, it was very nerve-racking the few times I got stuck in gridlock. I'd recommend putting a fan in, at least for the long drive. You should be able to squeeze the standard aux. fan in front of the radiator without disconnecting any hoses.'91 318is

Engine and intake sound pretty good but the video was almost noth worth posting at all .
I hope you do get some decent ones up eventually .
Oh and you will be hating life down in Texas with no A/C . :P
And like Brew mentioned I would think about installing an electric fan for Texas driving .

I have a brand new fan and clutch for the drive down, so that wont be a problem. Its just not hot enough here to need one.
After I get down there I will find a suitable electric fan, and wire it to come on at 1/2Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast
