    A Cold Weather Friendly Reminder.

I just wanted to remind everyone to make sure your dash is well protected for the cold weather ahead, and that's here. Don't be a fool and allow your dash to crack. It will ruin your day like no other. I fell victim last year and was rewarded with a loss of $75 and 10hrs of my life.

    Signed,
    -The unnecessary reminder.

I also added a pole to liven things up.

Woops, I was just thinking this made more sense for sun which UV rays harm it. Never really considered cold drying it out.

Any kind of plastic/vinyl protectant spray found at your local auto parts store should work. Stay away from any kind of petrol products (sometimes used to make things shine). The spray should be white, and look like milk for the most part.

I use 303 aerospace protectant, and highly recommend it.

Yeah that's the common one. I use the mothers one because it was easy to get a hold of at a local store.

My dash is the nicest part of my car nearly... I haven't washed/cleaned/protected anything since before the e30 picnic, though.

would bathing it in armor all do anything to an already cracked dash? such as prevent further crackage and protect?

It wouldn't hurt. It should help prevent new cracks from happening, but there is no stopping the old ones.

Armor-All contains silicone which dries out plastic. Don't use that junk.
