My bro lives in Vail. I'm heading out there in Jan. for some snowboarding. I wish I lived out there but I'd have to get an IX if I did.

Welcome to CO veedb!! I just had to brave some road ice on the way to work this morning, that is the extent of my wintry shenanigans. You are lucky to be up there on the slopes!
imho, needing all wheel drive in CO is just a paranoid myth. All you need is an LSD and some really good studded winter tires, and you will be fine, provided you aren't rock crawling or mud bogging...
you might be pushing some snow though.... ;)
