    Payment for car over PayPal?

Hey guys. Some guy wants to come check out and buy my car tomorrow morning. He says he only has the money in his paypal balance right now, he can transfer it to a bank account and withdraw it but he would have to wait a few days. I told him I was skeptical and would rather take cash. He told me the way you do it is through a gift payment so thats theres no way he can "cancel" the money after its been sent. It makes sense to me but I obviously need some confirmation. Guy didnt seem sketchy at all, wants to come drive it in person and everything unlike any paypal scams where people wanna pay for it then have somone else come get it or some shit.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Thoughts? I'd say cash or no deal. Can you really not wait a few days? You'll have to wait a few days before you'll have access to it even if Paypal works out anyway.

If I were in your situation I would tell him he can pay paypal but he has to wait till the funds get transferred into YOUR bank before he can take the car and or title.

Do it, but don't sign the bill of sale (or title?) until you have the money 100% accessible (as in, in your bank account).

Thanks guys. I let him know. The only reason its rushed is because tomorrow night up going to pick up my next e30. I was planning on getting a swing loan from my parents to pay off when my car sells. It would have been easier if i got cash tomorrow and didn't have to borrow the money.

Cash. If he puts it on a card and then backcharges it, I suspect you're still SOL. And since you have no seller protection, you get screwed.

It's probably only like $800, he should be able to get $800 cash easy enough if he really wants the car.

CASH ONLY. UNLESS HE HAS A BAR OF GOLD. That works too.
