Manufacture Buyback or Lemon Reported ?

THinking about buying a 89 325i with who knows how many miles. Odometer stoped at 179k.
Carfax had this: "Manufacture Buyback or Lemon Reported"
Would this be a deal breaker?
Looks like it didnt happen until the car changed titles at 170k miles.
Other than that its clean. Car drives great and everything works. Really clean car. Passenger side fender has been replaced.
Anyone ever buy a car with this?
    thanks

Probably not accurate on a car that old with that many miles... most manufacture buybacks or lemons are seriously broken within the first 50k miles. If it runs so well at 200k miles anything that was wrong was obviously fixed.

it's an old car, unless it shows that it was totaled on carfax, a pre purchase inspection will tell you more about the car.

the upside is you can try to use that as a bargining tool to get the price down.

I dont know how many miels it has though. Carfax in 2007 it had 179,085 then in 2010 it reported 179,340 ?
the gear shifter feels like its sitting in a bucket of butter. But goes through the gears fine.
        thanks
