aahh.. it is a beautiful aluminum bumpered e30. If its like that underneath go for it. Offer $2300, hope to get it for ~$2500. Bargain sir.
      No more e30s for me.

speaking from experience. verts are best for summer only. unless you get a hard top for them. if you lower the car u cant put chains on them because they sit soo low in the rear. the top shrinks in the cold and makes it hard to open and close the doors, cause the windows get stuck. also if you do get it change all hoses and winterize the crap out of it. as many other people have mentioned an iX is badass in the snow, get one if you are gonna daily in the winter in it.
        Much wow
        I hate 4 doors

Well..... I dont disagree entirely with the posters above regarding price and all.

But.....thats a clean machine for the miles and being in AZ, probably no rust. Might try to get him down to 2300 or 2500, but I dont think I'd feel too bad at paying 3k for that car.

What everyone says is true though about the vert. PITA... I like them but in a cold climate maybe not the best choice for a daily driver.

An iX, now that would be bad ass, but of course, you arent looking at one here.

I'd say go for it and keep looking for an iX to go with it. You ALWAYS need to keep 2 e30's on hand anyway.

i was worrying about that formyself...having a vert as daily in winter,
and michigan don't allow chain in general so i'm not too worried about that but what i've read or found (while i was researching suspension setup) was that it is different than the coupe? alot of the suspension kits dont fit on a cabrio???

and the last comment kinda hit me....need to have 2 e30's??? reliability issue or hard to find parts?

ok so i've been looking and also posted a thread on classified here that i'm looking to buy an e30.

i had few pms from members that are selling their e30 and there were couple i was interested in.
ultimatly what i wanted to ask you guys were, would it be best (reliable daily project) to buy the one i posted autotrader link?-complete stock with200k on the engine but very well takes care of OR get one with M50 swap on the car?

don't have too much info on M50 swapp'd car yet. i'll be sure to list some details once i get a reply.

              thankyou for your time!

m50 is not worth it IMHO.. all that effort for very little gains. stay m20, rebuild it if you want, or go s50/s52.. possibly m30.
                No more e30s for me.

so ok to say go for stock engine with 240k+ miles thank m50swap with 70k+ on the engine?

the thing is currently and for a while i won't have another vehicle for me to drive while the engine is being rebuilt and plan on driving it as is with few maintenance work for atleast a year?? that's the biggest factor indecision making for me currently..

Why would you want a convertible when you live in Michigan? I've also heard that the convertible version of the e30 isn't the greatest convertible that BMW made. Convertibles are structurally weaker than hardtops.

i.e. it's a necessary but somewhat unpleasant chore and they want something to make the task a little easier and insulate them from the process."
