Pete, I think you sold me. It's an E30 color, it's very rare IMO, and it's beautiful. Don't think I can pick a better color :) All thanks to you....mate ;)
Now I have to decide on Mtech 1 or Hartge, then painted euro bumpers or chrome, then hartge wheels or weaves (BBS, Ronal, RS, RZ, something.)
Fantastic Choice! I am certain that you will love it, I personally love its' rarity and also its' shine at different angles! I can't wait to see the pics of your E30 after you have it freshly painted in the blue, mine hasn't been resprayed - still original from 1991 and still holding up brilliantly.

Yeah, as much as the burgundrot has grown on me, I just can't stay with it. That lazur blue is amazing. The bare chassis (just like Jordan did) will get some snapshots before and after...should be a beautiful sight :)
That's a nice looking car! And youve got the euro bumpers like me :) Thanks for posting those, it helps me picture what combo of chrome/painted I'll be doing...
Well, it 'was' a nice looking car until it crashed
I've got two 320i's (one parts car) that I'm working on now to make up for it.
And believe me, it's definately not going to stay white.... I'm changing it to a later style of paint like Avus etc... and most likely painting over the chrome - IMO it dates the car.

News Flash...
These cars are dated. Very Dated. Old, Dated, Not new.
comprende?
Yes.. I realise these are 'old'
But in my eyes less chrome on them makes them look less old - some love the chrome, some don't - I don't for one, hence my painting over it.
From this very shit blurred pic... I conclude how much better the 325i looks rather than the chrome on white 320i :P

That said, I dont like the Lazure blue. You should look at actual color swatches, pics online 99% of the time look NOTHING like the real color.
I'm going to paint mine either Jager or Henna and sticker it up like a real ricer.
I like the fact they're old...I prefer "classic" though :) I like the chrome bumpers and trim. Something about it just looks right on our cars. Basically, I want my car to look like a factory Mtech car (Or hartge, but I've all but given up on that...) and those cars had chrome bumpers. I don't want my car to pretend to be newer than it is...chrome is class. Then again, I like wood interior pieces, so what do I know ;)
Beemerfanatik, Nice post.
I love the fact that my car is considered 'old' for that I love the styling, the simplicity of things and the ability to work on everything myself.
As an example, I loved the chrome on the 318i - it really suited it. Chrome on dark blue looks damn good, I mean it even had chrome strips around the wheel arches! Combined with the shiny basketweaves I think it definately looked the part.
This white 320i (SA Import) I've picked up also has all this chrome, however on white... It just doesn't do it for me. Combined with the fact all the chrome on it is showing it's age (cracking etc...) I figure it's best I say 'bye' to it and move on! Btw, Mtechnic 1 front on it aswell that looks rather good :P

Exactly. Work on everything yourself, not bad at all. Feeling like you're connected with the car, unlike BMW's 92+ (exc. e34 M5) - priceless.
Chrome on light colors - not as effective. Dark colors and chrome...my favorite. Black looks good too, but boring.
