Hey, don't feel bad about the slushbox. I sold my 5spd e30 and am driving around my automatic ( its the one that has all the mods, ironically) I just dork-shift it when I want to keep it in gear or hit redline and it's just fine. There are plenty of times when it is nice to not be shifting gears and feeling the engine and drivetrain clunking around with the constant clutching.

Need an auto... cause of my leg and parents who are concerned for my "safety"

There is a CLEAN one for a grand right in my town, but a 5 speed

    I've driven modified E30's, 2002's, E21's, E24's and nothing was like driving my E28 3.5 High comp.

I love E30s, but a well sorted E28 can be fun.

I'd take a euro E28 over just about anything.

Well my Mom and I talked about it this morning. I liek what she said

"Its your first car. Its not rocket science. You can upgrade to something else later".

    E28 it might be.

What is their suspension design? Macpherson struts upfront?

You E30 guys talk about E28's like they're overweight pigs. They're not. They have that impeccable BMW steering feel, classic BMW styling, and the 533i, 535i/is and M5 move very well.
